DB Cargo Belgium bv considers proper handling of personal data to be of great importance. What do we process your personal data for?

Within the framework of its agreements with business relations, DB Cargo Belgium bv collects and processes contact details for this purpose, including your name, position, business and/or professional interests, business mobile telephone number and business email address: If you are a (potential) customer of ours, we will use your data: 

  • In order to be able to send you an offer (-update), to be able to determine which specifications or wishes a particular item or service must meet, to be able to deliver items or carry out work for you, to be able to check the conditions, to be able to invoice and to be able to communicate with you smoothly and efficiently about the execution aspects of the agreement.

If you are a (potential) supplier or other contractor, your personal data are also necessary for the conclusion and performance of the agreement and for meeting security requirements. In the case of purchasing, this is necessary in order to be able to let you know what specifications or wishes a particular item or service must meet as far as we are concerned, to be able to send a request for quotation or to place an order with you, to be able to pay your invoices and to be able to communicate with you smoothly and efficiently about other aspects of the agreement.

If you order from us and/or deliver to us, we will store and use the personal data you have provided us with in order to inform you personally by e-mail of our existing and new products and services in the future and to make you an offer for them. We have a legitimate interest in using your personal data for this purpose, namely to inform, promote and sell our products and services. Every time we send you an advertising e-mail, you have the opportunity to let us know that you no longer wish to receive it. Please see the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every mailing. If you are a one-time customer with us, we will only send you advertising messages if you have given us your prior consent. Because of our security requirements, we need to check your ID when you visit our locations and/or when you provide (transport) services for us. We do not make a copy, but depending on the security level of the location in question, we can register the type of ID card and the number of the ID card. We do not retain this information longer than necessary.  You are not obliged to provide us with your personal details. However, if you do not provide us with personal details or provide us with insufficient personal details, it is possible that we will be unable to carry out the afore mentioned work or that you will be unable to provide the services requested. 

Newsletter and contact form

Where are sales data processed?

We hereby inform you about the data processing regarding our sales system "CASA" (customer services and sales application). 

DB Cargo AG works closely with its subsidiaries and national companies in the Cargo business unit of DB AG to ensure smooth and effective sales and customer support. Contact details for business transactions are shared in a company master database in order to provide the best possible service. 

For this purpose, a joint responsibility agreement in accordance with Art. 26 GDPR has been concluded between the contracting parties.

Security 

In order to prevent unauthorised persons from gaining access to your personal data, DB Cargo Belgium bv uses technical and organisational security procedures. These procedures guarantee an appropriate level of security in view of the types of processing and the nature of the personal data to be protected. 

Changes to this privacy statement 

DB Cargo Belgium bv reserves the right to make changes to its privacy policy. If DB Cargo Belgium bv makes an important change, which has consequences for the way in which DB Cargo Belgium bv processes your personal data, we will notify you by means of a notice on our website(s), in newsletters or in our DB Cargo magazine.
